about
The Norse runic alphabet song. Vikings believed that the runes used for writing also carried powerful magic, discovered by Odin when he hung himself from the branches of Yggdrasil for nine nights in a powerful ceremony of self-sacrifice. Runes were used to work spells, cures and curses, and Odin's mastery of them was much of what made him the leader of the gods.

I love how the queerness of the characters is handled as an integral part of the narrative and plot development without it being the end all be all of the characters themselves. my boy Gawain deserved better though maritarvaniti
